The Evil Within 2's Denuvo DRM was cracked in a day because it was never there to begin with News

There was a time when the much-maligned Denuvo 'anti tamper' DRM remained uncrackable for months at a time. Favoured by publishers as a way to circumvent software piracy risks, many players have been campaigning for its death even since - usually arguing that publishers assume any and all PC players will steal the game if able or that it'll lead to the growing trend of 'always online' gaming.

The Evil Within 2 launches on Friday 13th, here's the Launch Trailer News

The sequel to the 2014 survival horror game from the mind of Shinji Mikami, The Evil Within 2, is set to be released on Friday 13th for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4. To celebrate this, Bethesda has sent over the launch trailer, which shows lots of blood, head explosions and other grizzly sights. The first game was a survival horror that we thoroughly enjoyed, a sort of cross between Resident Evil 4 and Silent Hill. It did have its problems though, mainly due to technical issues with the camera angles and such, but The Evil Within 2 looks set to improve on this and offer a much better experience.

The Evil Within: The Assignment due out March 10th News

Bethesda and developer Tango Gameworks has announced that DLC The Assignment for The Evil Within will be creeping us out March 10th. In this extra slice of horror we play as detective Juli Kidman to wrap up loose ends. A second helping of DLC is due "later this spring," and will conclude this concurrent, er, capering? The season pass features all these DLC releases, or can be bought separately for £6.99.

The Evil Within's first DLC is called The Assignment, drops next month News

As promised earlier this week, Bethesda has officially announced The Assignment, the first DLC content for The Evil Within. It's on the way next month on all platforms. We know that the DLC will star detective Juli Kidman, though further details are a little thin on the ground right now. A teaser video released alongside the announcement reveals very little.

Bethesda promises "good news soon" for The Evil Within episodic DLC News

What the heck is going on with the 'due in early 2015' episodic DLC for The Evil Within? Surely we should have heard something by now. Bethesda has tweeted we'll be getting "good news soon". The horror game released last October and it's due three episodes to continue the nightmare, with the first two about detective Juli Kidman, and the third letting us take the role of The Keeper.

PC demo released for The Evil Within News

There's a demo out for survival horror The Evil Within, letting you try out the first three blood-spattered chapters of the game for free. They happen to be the worst chapters in the game... but still! Should you decide you want to buy the game after that taster, you'll also get a copy of 2009 FPS horror Call of Cthulhu - which is a bit odd, but fair enough.

The Evil Within patch removes 30FPS limit and letterboxing‏ News

I think it's fair to say that there's been some dissatisfaction with the PC version of horror title The Evil Within, which was locked at 30FPS upon release, and comes equipped with love-'em-or-hate-'em letterbox borders. Bethesda and developer Tango Gameworks have decided to listen to unhappy fans, and have just released a patch that unlocks native 60FPS support and removes the letterboxing.
