We’ve been speculating endlessly about what new races the Total War: Warhammer DLC would bring, and now we’ve finally got an answer. The first new faction will be the Beastmen, a Chaos-tainted horde of minotaurs and other hybrids between man and animal, letting you spread like a plague over the old world.
Blood for the Blood God! Warhammer is a great name for a heavy metal band and the latest DLC for Total War: Warhammer is probably the name of their album – Blood and Gore. Of course, like with most gaming news these days, this piece of DLC was leaked. The trailer embedded below is in Russian, but we aren’t complaining as it will be virtually the same as the English one. The trailer is pretty gory, so if you are a bit squeamish you probably shouldn’t watch it. A narrator speaks throughout the video explaining his reasoning behind the killing the his faction partake, like a true metal band does. "Beyond the world, he waits atop a throne of skulls. All blood is only borrowed. Once shed, it must return. Blood for the Blood God,” says the narrator.

Check out the latest Total War: Warhammer campaign walkthrough video below to watch the powerful Chaos Warriors destroy everything in sight. Creative Assembly mention in the video that the Chaos Warriors are potentially the most difficult race to place as in the game, so we’d recommend not picking them unless you are an experienced Total War player. Chaos Warriors make very little money through their infrastructure. You’ll have to maintain armies by running at a deficit, but you can earn significant income by sacking, looting, raiding and winning battles. As a result, you won’t want to sit around for too long!
We can't say we were expecting this, since Games Workshop are pretty touchy about anyone playing around or changing its IP, and we don't think there's been many moddable – if any - Warhammer games in the past, so it's extremely exciting to reveal that Creative Assembly have officially announced the Assembly Kit and Steam Workshop support for Total War: WARHAMMER. The development team will be working with modders in the run up to the release, which means we should start seeing mods available on launch day; the 24th May.
