Total War: Warhammer's (I can't quite get over how awkward that title is) Dwarf faction is built very much on defensive lines; you clump together your bearded warriors, set up a field of crossbow and rifle fire, and pummel the hell out of anything that moves with your heavy artillery. It's the latter unit that's under the spotlight in this latest spotlight video from The Creative Assembly. Dwarfen Artillery teams are experts at siege warfare, but equally skilled at transforming charging orks into scattered blobs of meat.
The Creative Assembly has put out another Let's Play video for its upcoming grand strategy epic Total War: Warhammer, and this time it's the diminutive but dangerous dwarfs that are the stars of the show. The team recognises that players coming in may feel a bit outmatched by veteran players, but promises that the matchmaking system should solve that issue.
Okay, so this might not be an actual in-game trailer for Creative Assembly's upcoming Total War: Warhammer, but it certainly serves to gets fans of the nuts [url=https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Warhammer_FantasyWarhammer Fantasy[/url] setting excited. It introduces the Dwarfs, one of four factions that will be introduced in the RTS war game. Specifically, it introduces Thorgrim Grudgebearer, the dwarfen High King who's equal parts grumpy and awesome. He writes down every wrong ever committed against the dwarf kingdoms in his big Book of Grudges - we'll be able to settle some of those when the game comes out.
Creative Assembly has shone the spotlight on Total War: Warhammer's Dwarfen faction for its latest unit video, specifically their deadly, rugged melee units. One of the four armies included in the game's launch edition, the Dwarfs unsurprisingly specialise in heavy infantry - their axe and hammer troops are deadly not just against other enemy foot units, but against monsters and heroes as well. Plus, they've got the best-looking armour and weapons in the business. Fact.
Patch 10 is now live for Creative Assembly's free-to-play strategy game Total War: Arena, bringing with it both gameplay changes and tweaks to the game's UI. It might contain orks, trolls, giant spiders and all sorts of other entertaining fantasy nonsense, but Creative Assembly says that Total War: Warhammer is still a Total War game at heart. Yes, I realise that sounds self-explanatory; what lead writer Andy Hall means is that there will be no major changes to the series' long-standing gameplay formula, and no attempt to directly emulate the tabletop game.
