Developer Obsidian has already moved "almost everyone" who worked on Fallout: New Vegas onto their next project. The team is "pretty busy" again. Vacations were already taken by a lot of staff "earlier this month and last month" so they return refreshed. Right now New Vegas is out worldwide.
Fable III is now at the top of this week's UK all-formats chart. EA's FIFA 11 is holding strong at 2nd place, while Fallout: New Vegas drops down to third and Just Dance 2 comes in 4th.
Bethesda developers have announced that a "comprehensive patch" for all platforms should be with Fallout: New Vegas players "in the coming weeks." This will address the Xbox 360 save issue as well as other reported mishaps. An "incremental update" for PC will release early this week.

Bethesda has announced that the first downloadable content for Fallout: New Vegas, Dead Money, will be released exclusively on Xbox LIVE Marketplace beginning December 21st, 2010. For another week at the UK all formats chart EA Sports' FIFA 11 has kept the top spot with Ubisoft's Just Dance 2 claiming the coveted second fiddle. This means Activision's Call of Duty: Black Ops has sunk to third followed by Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit. Wii Fit Plus has crept into the top ten.
Bethesda has trademarked some names as of December 15th and they seem to hint at three potential DLC releases for Fallout: New Vegas. 'Honest Hearts' is one of the trademarks and it appears as in-game graffiti in New Vegas, much like 'Dead Money' did. 'Lonesome Road' and 'Old World Blues'.
Interplay is incensed over Bethesda's "absurd" attempted legal claim that Fallout Online may only be Fallout in name, and may not use any of the intellectual properties' locations, history, lore or characters.
Interplay says that it could end up developing Fallout 6 if Bethesda prevents it from releasing Fallout Online, as the sale of the IP will be terminated if it isn't allowed to continue with development. If this is the outcome from the ongoing legal battles, Bethesda will only be allowed to develop one more Fallout says Interplay.
Bethesda VP of PR Pete Hines has been quick to quash Interplay's Eric Caen claims that the firm doesn't own the rights to develop a Fallout MMO by saying that it's Bethesda, not Interplay, that own the rights. "We own the rights to the MMO," said Hines in an interview with VG247.
So far Fallout: New Vegas has expanded only with DLC Dead Money for Xbox 360 but Bethesda are likely to release "other stuff" as times goes on. Peter Hines says he doesn't think "putting out one DLC pack" would meet their own standards of supporting products. Will Dead Money go PC/PS3?
Peter Hines of Bethesda has confirmed that "obviously" any future titles from the game studio will make use of the new Creation Engine technology. It will debut in Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim which hits in November this year. Hines tells fans they're "gonna have to wait and see" what project is next.
Once more Bethesda has given the reins to another legal team to handle their lawsuit against Interplay over the Fallout license and the MMO in the works. Interplay meanwhile continues to stick with their single attorney, Jeffrey Gersh. Bethesda say they optioned the license to Interplay but they broke agreements.
The Xbox 360 “exclusive” DLC “Dead Money” for Fallout: New Vegas was a timed exclusive after all, as Bethesda has let us know that the downloadable pack will be hitting the PlayStation Network and PC on February 22. The PC version will be arriving via Steam and Direct 2 Drive.
