Eidos Montreal has made the slightly surprising revelation that Deus Ex: Mankind Divided will have a New Game Plus mode. Judging by the latest episode of dev diary series DXTV, embedded below, NG+ should allow perfectionists to hunt down all the hidden secrets in the game's sprawling, open levels. Presumably we'll be able to carry over lead character Adam Jensen's skills and gear across to the new playthrough, but nothing is confirmed yet. Eidos plans to reveal more soon.

Last month Eidos Montreal appeared to suggest that players would be able to talk their way past bosses in Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, but it turns out that's not the case. Speaking to Eurogamer, gameplay director Patrick Fortier clarified that while you can avoid certain combat situations through dialogue, you actually can't do that with the boss fights themselves.
Deus Ex: Human Revolution was a great game in many ways, but it never quite offered the same freedom of choice as the cult classic cyberpunk thriller that inspired it. One of the major differences was that there was no avoiding the boss fights in the game – whether you were sympathetic to your opponent’s plight or not, you still had to take them down. Developer Eidos Montreal says that next year’s sequel, Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, will allow you use dialogue to find different ways of dealing with boss encounters.
Warren Spector, Chris Norden and Sheldon Pacotti are all original creators of the dystopic Deus Ex, so it's only fair they're subjected to a lengthy Let’s Play marathon of their original creation to celebrate 15 years of Deus Ex. Listen carefully because they'll be offering their unique insight into the game and its universe. The plot maybe linear, "but within each part of the plot you can do whatever you want - that's the cool thing", declares Spector.
Deus Ex: Mankind Divided contains a fancy new combat system, with advanced mechanics for punching people through walls and filling them full of assault rifle rounds, and therefore doesn't nudge you into pursuing a stealthy approach in the way its predecessor Human Revolution often did. “A lot of people told us that they had the feeling that you had to play the game in stealth,” Eidos Montreal's exec producer Stéphane Roy told PCGamesN at E3 last month. “And so we said this time that we really want you to play it like you want, and you're going to be able to do that. We did this to make it what people want.”
In a new video from Eidos Montreal we see Deus Ex creator Warren Spector praise the studio's latest Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, and he remarked they appear to have "captured the essence" of the series. His "baby is all grown up" he added after having seen the gameplay demo of Mankind Divided. The team "really captured the tone and spirit" over at Eidos. He doesn't wanna know any of the story.
Eidos Montreal has released a bumper 25-minute gameplay trailer for its upcoming cyberpunk sequel Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, narrated by audio director Steve Szczepkowski. Pointy-bearded hero Adam Jensen is on a mission in Prague, where as usual he had to decide between sneaking around and murdering every single thing in sight. Be aware, at around the 18:25 - 22:20 mark there is a scene featuring some minor story *SPOILERS*, so skip ahead if you want to go into the game fresh.
There's a lot of eye-candy in the upcoming Deus Ex: Mankind Divided from developer Eidos Montreal, and to prove it they brought a tech demo of the new Dawn Engine to the PC Gaming Show. It's full of illumination this, post-process that, and many other fancy jargon words - but the proof is in the video itself. The Deus Ex cyberpunk world is full of clutter, shiny puddles and billowing smoke.
Eidos Montreal have made the world of cyberpunk a little brighter with fresh footage of Deus Ex: Mankind Divided at the Square Enix E3 conference. The very first in-game footage is now out. Deus Ex: Mankind Divided will be coming out early next year on PC and console.
Still more conference pageantry to get through with Square Enix today holding theirs a little later at 10.00am PDT / 6.00pm GMT+1. A live stream of the conference is all ready to go. Square have some heavy hitters like the new Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, and of course the open world Just Cause 3, the silent Hitman returns, and there's always more Final Fantasy.
There's to be an "in-game reveal" for Eidos' new Deus Ex: Mankind Divided next week at E3 2015. They've confirmed Adam Jensen will be seen in all his new cyberpunk glory within the game itself. CGI trailers are nice and all, and help set the mood, but fans wanted to see how Mankind Divided actually plays compared to the well-received Human Revolution. The reveal is set for June 16th.
Deus Ex creator and industry legend Warren Spector has been doing an AMA over on Reddit, and it's well worth a read for anyone who's ever enjoyed his past work. He discusses the development process, his views on the future of gaming, and his feelings about the direction the Deus Ex franchise has taken since he handed over the reins.
Developer Nixxes Software will again be taking on the augmented future with Deus Ex: Mankind Divided for PC, which is of no surprise considering they were also tasked with desktop-ising Human Revolution. It's not known yet what PC-specific goodies we'll be getting but DirectX12 and AMD's TressFX are confirmed. Eidos won't repeat their mistake of outsourcing boss fights again.
We're not even in May yet but it's already time for mid-June. Square Enix has just dated and timed their press conference for this year's E3. It begins June 16th @ 9.00am PDT / 12.00pm EDT / 5.00pm GMT +1. What exactly will they have at their just-before-E3-kicks-off conference event? Not sure yet, as they'll be letting us know 'soon', but you can place your bets on Eidos' Deus Ex: Mankind Divided and Tomb Raider.
Game director Jean-François Dugas at Eidos Montreal has affirmed that the upcoming Deus Ex: Mankind Divided is completely open to being ghosted, where Jensen will remain undetected through every encounter. Also coming back are the conversation-led 'boss battles' where we put our charisma, or the C.A.S.I.E. augment, to the test. We got to experience these a handful of times in Human Revolution.
The Game Informer piece on the newly announced Deus Ex: Mankind Divided has some very juicy intel. The official press release from Square Enix and Eidos Montreal barely sated our appetite. Firstly, boss encounters can be tackled any way we choose - not just full combat. The number of augmentations 'has doubled' from Human Revolution, and we'll be exploring events leading to the original Deus Ex.
Despite having leaked already, Square Enix has now officially declared Deus Ex: Mankind Divided to the world. It's set two years after the events of Human Revolution with Jensen now working for an Interpol taskforce. We're hunting augmented terrorist types, with Jensen expanding his skill set to tackle obstacles in new ways. Eidos Montreal boasts they're improving a lot of mechanics, including boss encounters.
We reported earlier today that Square Enix was up to something shadowy and sinister as they began a "very special stream" on Twitch that was unfolding as an "interactive reveal" for one of its Western development studios' upcoming games.
Something shadowy and sinister is in the works over at Square Enix as they've begun a "very special stream" that's unfolding as an "interactive reveal" for one of their Western development studios. At the end of this three day event we'll be shown the "next major game", but until then Twitch viewers will be affecting "several key moments" through chat. Is this for the next Deus Ex?
Warren Spector has voiced the primary reason why he let Junction Point be acquired by Disney was he wants to be able to compete in the triple-A space, but knows as an independent developer that's just crazy these days. Mounting costs and quality are major headaches for the little guys out there and Spector can now enjoy the "freedom" to create and develop.
