Merging the award-winning, smash-hit, indie game The Escapists with the worldwide phenomenon that is The Walking Dead, Team17 have taken the very best of both worlds and are now providing players with the opportunity to play Rick Grimes as he takes on hordes of zombies let loose upon the world. In this unique game, recreated entirely in the charming 8-bit pixel art style of The Escapists, Rick is in charge of a band of survivors featuring many of the original comic book cast. He must secure the safety of the group by seeking out a safe escape route from each area, and manage several dangerous tasks to keep as many of the group alive as possible. The game faithfully matches the timeline of the comics and so as the player makes progress in the game they play through locations that mirror the progress of the band of the survivors taken from the award-winning comic’s epic story.

Never mind escaping the joint, Team17 and Skybound Entertainment have just revealed The Walking Dead has infected The Escapists. There's only one thing for it; take control of Rick Grimes and 8-bit your way to safety. The start of the new game has us as Rick Grimes in the Harrison Memorial Hospital, and we need to escape! This serves as our tutorial, conveniently, and we'll need all our cunning to defeat those walkers.

The "untold journey" of The Walking Dead's Michonne from the comic series is the feature of Telltale Games' latest in the franchise. The Walking Dead: Michonne is a mini-series exploring what happens between issue #126 and #136. Fans will learn "what took Michonne away" from her trusted group, and what brings her back. Series creator Robert Kirkman calls her "a reflection" of The Walking Dead world itself. She'll "bridge that gap" between comic and game.

Next week there'll be a new co-op zombie shooter on the block with Overkill Software's bash at The Walking Dead franchise. Episodic adventure studio Telltale Games has inked an exclusive publishing deal with Warner Bros, confirming rumours they're making The Walking Dead. Not only are they adapting the comic-based zombie apocalypse, which has a hit TV show now, but they've also landed the Fables comic-book property too.

Telltale Games CEO Dan Connors has announced that The Walking Dead, their adaptation of the popular AMC post-apocalyptic series, is ready to undergo certification for Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network. The second season of the television series ends on the 18th March, so it seems likely that the first episode of the Telltale episodic videogame will launch in April or May on console. The PC release date is likely to be different since there is no certification process for a computer title.

Telltale Games has announced that an audio glitch that users were reporting on the PC version of The Walking Dead Episode 1: A New Day, has been fixed. The audio issue occurred when characters were yelling or screaming, causing a crackling white noise.

Telltale Games' Episode 2 for The Walking Dead will be arriving for fans to enjoy "around the end of June", reveals the developer. There is no firm date set yet for the next instalment. It's still undergoing certification. Three months have passed for the group when we next hook up with them. In all there will be five episodes and our decisions always carry over.

Episode 2 of Telltale's videogame adaption of The Walking Dead, titled "Starved for Help", will be arriving on Xbox Live Marketplace later tonight. The PC and PlayStation 3 versions of Episode 2 will be hitting this Friday, the 29th June. However, the European PlayStation Network version has not been dated yet.
