Developer Vigil Games has released a patch for PC Darksiders 2 which addresses some of the issues it has been having. The v-sync settings option "is now functional," which means no more screen tear. The game's targeting reticule will now "align properly at all" resolutions as well, and we can sacrifice items "below the 3rd row" to our Possessed weapons. Vigil also included some "progressions fixes."

Vigil Games has teased Darksiders 2 DLC with a screenshot on Twitter. The image appears alongside the caption, "A new adventure awaits Death!" We'll keep you updated.

Wedbush-Morgan analyst Michael Pachter has revealed that THQ's major release Darksiders II is struggling to hit the "break even" mark of 2M unit sales. The game has only sold just over a million units, according to Pachter.
Major Nelson has revealed the next two week's Xbox Live Marketplace content. As one might expect, digital content is light as retail releases dominate the Xbox 360 landscape. Some notable DLC includes the Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 Season Pass as well as content for Kinect titles Wreckateer and Fruit Ninja Kinect.
THQ is once more in financial straits but there have been positive events recently as they've managed to secure a forbearance agreement with Wells Fargo Capital Finance until January 15th, 2013. That means the $50 million on credit won't be exercised against THQ, and additional loans will be made. Also the publisher is in talks with a potential "financial sponsor", but nothing is certain.
The third downloadable content pack for Darksiders II, Demon Lord Belial, will be released later today on Xbox Live Marketplace and PC, while the PlayStation 3 version will be released tomorrow, the 5th December. The DLC will run 800 Microsoft Points ($10 USD).
The final stages of THQ's bankruptcy seems to be coming on the 22nd January, when Clearlake Capital will be auctioning off the publisher's assets one by one.
Sony has announced that Vigil Games' original Darksiders is the latest title to be given freely to subscribers of PlayStation Plus. They pair that with 50% off PlayStation Vita's Stardrone Extreme. The corporate giant also lets us know that inFamous 2 will be re-joining the collection of free games, as its removal "was an error" on their part. It will appear in this week's Instant Game Collection.
Brian Farrell and Jason Rubin have discussed a little about the closing moments of publisher THQ, of which both were leading executives. Farrell does "sincerely regret this outcome" for those out of work. Rubin adds that he was brought in to "help turn this ship around," and while disappointed never everyone was saved, he echoes Farrell in being grateful for those that were snapped up.
Darksiders developer Vigil Games has become Crytek USA, but Crytek boss Cevat Yerli was as equally shocked as the rest of us that no one actually put forward a bid during the THQ auction. Crytek didn't bid at the time because of "too many unknowns," and that their current projects "weren't strategically fit" for the German studio. A single meeting led to Crytek USA being formed.
THQ is getting set to sell off its remaining IPs in an auction, and some of the lots are eye-raising. One lot contains the dormant Homeworld IP, while another offers the Red Faction titles. The Darksiders and MX properties have their own respective lots as well.
Major Nelson has revealed a new console bundle from Microsoft called the Xbox 360 250GB Spring Value Bundle, which will be released this Spring and cost $299.99 USD.
It was announced earlier that Gearbox bought the rights to the Homeworld franchise. It has been revealed that Nordic Games has acquired the licenses to Darksiders, Red Faction, MX vs. ATV, Destroy All Humans!, Summoner, Supreme Commander, and Marvel Super Hero Squad.
Vigil Games co-founder and lead designer for Darksiders 1 & 2 has told Nordic via the publisher's forums that any future title in the series should be adventurous, and explore those other horsemen comets. Lead combat designer Ben Cureton implores them to stick with "fast-paced combat, the sense of scale, quality voice acting," and making Strife and Fury "BADASS" - or sell the IP to Crytek.
Nordic Games acquired a number of licenses from THQ during the IP auction, one of them being Darksiders. However, don't expect to see a Darksiders III anytime soon. Nordic Games states it will not release a "sh----y", rushed game.
