Recent forum users on a Bungie message board have pointed out that the total enemy kills in the popular online multiplayer game Halo 3 has exceeded the current world population. Official Bungie statistics place the total amount of enemy kills at 6,738,689,827 as of this writing, while many estimates of the world population come in just below that. The world population kills number was past sometime on Saturday June 21st.
From an external survey it would seem Microsoft is pondering outside-the-box strategies for the Halo name, like more 'family friendly' adventures. Participants of the research survey were asked to mark next to each idea on what scale would they be interested in purchasing these Halo games.

According to Sarcastic Gamer a source has revealed that Bungie Studios is in fact working on another Halo game, though there's nothing specific about the details - typical. This could be the rumoured third-person prequel game, or not. One thing's for sure this would count as one of the two big E3 reveals from Microsoft, if you believe that rumour.
