Yesterday reports spawned across the Internet regarding the possibility of a Grand Theft Auto movie almost being put into production but the deal fell through last spring. Rockstar boss Dan Houser has now comment on these rumours by saying that the MTV deal that they were offered was no more interesting than any of the other offers they had.
According to the recent article from the guys and gals at CVG, upcoming DLC for Rockstar's insanely anticipated GTAIV may have "new downloadable cities." They claim Rockstar "is clearly hinting" at the notion, are they also suggesting this is what Microsoft coughed up all those big bucks for?
Yes they've made it official; Sony will be letting Rockstar's GTAIV loose on the streets in an official console bundle pack. The PS3 unit will come with a 40GB hard drive, a SIXAXIS wireless controller and of course the game. This bundle will be available in the UK on April 29th for £319.99 (RRP).

BradyGames announced this morning that its launched its Grand Theft Auto IV Signature Series guide – the only official guide to the year’s biggest game, out now for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Created in conjunction with developer Rockstar Games, Grand Theft Auto IV Signature Series guide weighs in at 288 pages, features an exclusive double-sided foldout map and poster, and goes on sale with an RRP of £12.99.
Six teenagers accused of a string of crimes including mugging and vandalism have blamed their behaviour on Grand Theft Auto, says a report on Newsday.com. The mini crime wave began with a mugging outside a supermarket in New Hyde Park, Nassau County, New York on Wednesday 25th June and continued on into the early hours of Thursday as they robbed a driver and smashed vehicles with baseball bats and crowbars. After stealing cigerettes from a female motorist the police were alerted and apprehended six teenagers aged between 14 and 18. A police spokesman later told reporters that they got "certain admissions" and had been told that the six were "emulating the character in that Grand Theft Auto game, going on a crime spree".
RockStar announced today that Grand Theft Auto IV will be released for the PC on 21th November. The game will contain the same content as the console versions, but the PC will be getting an expanded version of multiplayer exclusive to the PC.

Rockstar has revealed on its official forums that the upcoming PC patch for Grand Theft Auto 4, that will makes various fixes to the problems that have been reported, is finished and is being certified by Microsoft before release. "We are working on making a patch available in the next few days. Since Grand Theft Auto IV is a Games For Windows - Live game the patch must be certified by Microsoft before release. The patch is already at Microsoft and we expect a speedy approval," said the Rockstar representative.
Now that the Videogame Awards ceremony this year has named the industry greatest it's time to put them all in a list and cheer, or sneer as the case may warrant. According to Game Informer's Loose Talk section in issue 190, Rockstar Games have the next instalment nearing completion for release. This isn't DLC talk either, they really do mean a whole new game powered by the GTA4 engine. They say to expect a subtitle game much like Vice City/San Andreas was to GTA3.

Take-Two have confirmed that Rockstar Games' Grand Theft Auto IV has shifted more than 13 million copies to fans worldwide. The publisher has given no word to the numerical success of The Lost and Damned DLC. The second exclusive Xbox 360 piece of downloadable content is likely due in October.
Ben Feder, Take-Two CEO, has said they're going to enjoy a profitable next fiscal year "without the release" of a new Grand Theft Auto from Rockstar Games. The second episodic expansion to GTA IV is due this Fall, with one analyst previously having said a new full GTA game wouldn't come until 2011, but to expect more DLC in 2010.
Ben Schachter of Broadpoint AmTech is an analyst, and he reckons that Rockstar Games' mega franchise has past its zenith, well sort of. He cites the underperformance of DLC and smaller GTAs like Chinatown Wars, though they're not "true new GTA titles" admits Schachter.
