Firaxis has announced that the third downloadable content pack for XCOM: Enemy Unknown, called Second Wave Content, will be released today for free on Steam, Xbox Live Marketplace and PlayStation Network. The Second Wave Content DLC allows fans to replay the campaign after finishing it with new modifiers.

Publisher 2K Games has confirmed that the planned XCOM shooter from 2K Marin is still in the works, with it due in their next fiscal period which runs April 1st, 2013 to March 31st, 2014. The tactical squad-based affair is in development for Xbox 360, PS3, Wii U and PC. It originally debuted in April 2010 as a class-based FPS, and before Firaxis revealed XCOM: Enemy Unknown.
