H1Z1: Just Survive Drops The H1Z1 Name - A Segmented New Map And Base Changes Have Users Voicing Their Concerns News

There's something to like about a game getting straight to the point with its title, but when it's only gotten there after years of running under a different name, it's bound to confuse players new and old. H1Z1: Just Survive is now known as Just Survive. It's like the core H1Z1 team doesn't want it to be associated with H1Z1: King of the Hill anymore. Though that's apparently their own fault.

Daybreak Games has revealed that the PC version of H1Z1: King of the Kill will come out of early access and fully launch on 20th September, while the planned versions for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 will be put on hold to concentrate on the launch. Since the launch of the early access programme, H1Z1: King of the Kill has gone through several changes, including overhauls to the combat and vehicle systems, the addition of Skirmishes, and changes to the toxicity system. There's more changes planned for the launch too, with a totally revamped world map, redesigned and more intuitive user interface, training modes, Twitch integration, scoring systems and seasons.

Daybreak president John Smedley claims the studio has banned over 25,000 H1Z1 hackers News

Daybreak Game Company don't like cheaters. Almost as much as Blizzard don't like cheaters. John Smedley, president of the company, recently revealed that nearly 25,000 H1Z1 players have been banned for cheating. He's actually on something of a campaign against hackers and similar miscreants, and particularly against the sites that supply the cheats. "Please keep using and supporting TMCHEATS," he followed up. "We aren't banning users who use it at all." TM Cheats is a well-known supplier of aimbots, anti-anti cheat software and other hacks, and if anything Smedley's more angry at them than he is the hackers.

Daybreak Game Company "eliminate positions" at San Diego and Austin studios, "will not affect" MMO projects News

Sony Online Entertainment is no more, as they acquired themselves as an independent studio and re-branded as Daybreak Game Company. Unfortunately this upheaval has now led to staffing reductions as they 'realign assets'. EverQuest franchise lead Dave Georgeson and EverQuest Next’s lead content designer Steve Danuser have fallen prey to that 'realignment'. EverQuest Next has been quiet, with Landmark stealing the spotlight.

"Donation and tears" from H1Z1 cheaters "greatly appreciated," taunts Sony Online News

It's war! Senior game designer Jimmy Whisenhunt from Sony Online Entertainment has revealed the developer is 'at war' with a wave of cheaters right now in H1Z1, which has seen a plague of aimbot arrows raining death. They're busy slamming known cheaters with permanent bans, and some just jump right back in after paying for another account. This is 'free money' for the zombie MMO, so SOE doesn't mind too much.

Sony refunds H1Z1 gamers following complaints of 'pay to win' airdrops, unveils changes to come News

The Early Access launch for Sony Online Entertainment's zombie survival MMO H1Z1 is not feeling so good right now as many who paid for the Alpha discover a certain promise 'has been broken'. SOE president John Smedley had said the game's micro-transacting airdrops would only contain 'cosmetic' items and treats, however the reality is quite different: they contain guns and ammo.

SOE's zombie MMO H1Z1 hits Steam Early Access this week News

Hey everyone, are you ready for an open world zombie survival game? No, not that one. I mean H1Z1, SOE's attempt to knock Day Z off its flipping perch. The title goes into Steam Early Access on Thursday, January 15. Say it with me; “Players should anticipate an evolving feature set, bugs, incomplete content, missing features, and potentially game breaking issues.”

Sony's zombie H1Z1 on Steam Early Access in mid-January News

Sony Online Entertainment has announced their H1Z1 open-world zombie survivor will be joining the shuffling Early Access hordes on Steam early next year. It will be available from January 15th. The post-apocalyptic MMO will be sold for $19.99, revealed SOE President John Smedley. It's a "really fun game, but it's early." He warns off those expected something that's near-finished.

Sony Online "nearly done" with Early Access list for H1Z1, "real happy with where we are at" News

John Smedley, big boss over at Sony Online Entertainment, has tweeted that his H1Z1 team has almost completed their "early access list of stuff" for the zombie open-world MMO. The more bells and whistles the better. Sony has held off launching before now, but with little information as to why. Now we know it's because they wanted to cram it with more things first. It's got big competition to out-shuffle after all.
