Iron Gate and Coffee Stain Publishing have finally locked the Valheim 1.0 release date, with the survival-crafting Norse mythology game exiting early access alongside the Deep North content update.
It’s been a long wait, but the news arrived on June 7, with the developers confirming the hit survival-crafting game set in a land defined by Norse mythology “will hit PC, Linux, Mac, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S” on September 9, 2026. Additionally, all PS5 and Nintendo Switch 2 gamers will be able to join the full adventure on the same date, and crossplay support is included.
The launch into 1.0 follows years of early access success on PC (via Steam & Microsoft) and Xbox, and will be marked by the arrival of the free, endgame-oriented Deep North update.
Iron Gate has also confirmed Valheim will have a booth at the Gamescom 2026 event: “If you’ll be at the event in Cologne, make sure to come find us for a chance to chat to some of the devs, and to experience Valheim in a more immersive way than ever before. We look forward to seeing you there, it’s gonna be big!”
