Luckily, your extensive knowledge of all crafting, your well-earned maximum inventory space on both ship and suit, and a few choice resources are intact. Resource costs are a bite in No Man's Sky. In pretty much ever second of the journey, players will have resource costs hanging over their heads, pushing them to always be mining for new materials to keep the expedition going. If you're looking to simply reduce the cost rather than remove it outright, this is a good option. With this mod, you can modify the plutonium cost every time you launch your ship to be 50% of the original cost, 25% of the original cost, or even altogether free. It serves to adjust or remove one of the many hassles of exploring No Man's Sky's universe.

This mod is an ongoing project aimed at refreshing almost all of the menu icons throughout No Man's Sky. From ship, multi-tool, and exosuit icons to icons that can be seen on the regular interface, this mod introduces new art that fits the overall theme of the game on nearly every front and looks more visually appealing than those found in the vanilla interface. Eventually, just about every icon in the game will be reworked into a better, more interesting form, but the mod already includes a massive slew of updates to many of the menus and HUDs the player will see.

If you pay attention to most of the objects in No Man's Sky, especially during the night, you'll probably notice the strange lighting effect that shows up on all of them. From plants to animals and every object around, this effect gives a weird glow to all objects even when a direct source of light isn't apparent. This mod removes that weird lighting effect from around all things, giving them a natural dullness that they really ought to have when a light source isn't beating down upon them.

The cool blue/teal lines of space stations might look fine for many of you, but for some, the color might just build along the cold darkness of space. For those of you looking for a warmer look that drives home that feel of coming in from the infinite abyss, this mod just might supply what you're looking for. It replaces the teal lines with red ones, giving an overall warmer look to space stations. After all, these places are meant to be a secure sanctuary from the depths of space exploration. They should feel just a bit more cozy.

This mod is for those of you who get annoyed with the fade-in graphical effect that No Man's Sky employs when you're flying rapidly across a planetary surface. Rather than allow pop-in of textures and models to happen gradually, terrain morphing is instantaneous with this mod. Surfaces will appear in their procedurally generated and explorable state the moment you come in range of them rather than slowly building up to them as you get closer.

It provides a revamp to the icons you'll see when searching for life across the planetscape. Whether it's quickly identifying an area of things you've already scanned or getting a lead on new creatures, this mod will supply you with better indicators to help you in your mission to identify original life on any planet.

This mod is a little something made for those of us with nostalgic tastes. It revamps the vision when using the binoculars/scanner to a 80's style scanline texture with video recording information on the screen. It's a rather interesting and creative little interface that reminds of old-school video recording displays from 1990s and '80s home video cameras. If you're into that home movie style or if you're a bit of a hipster that enjoys the mixing of old and new aesthetics, this mod is well worth it.

You'll spend a lot of time in No Man's Sky looking at your same boring ship for long periods of time, mostly because getting a new ship costs an arm and a leg. No matter. if you can't get a new ship, just change the appearance of your current one (other other beings ships for that matter). This mod allows you to change the look of yours and other ships to any one of the basic ship classes, including dropships, fighters, science vessels, and shuttles. It's purely aesthetic, but it just might stave off the boredom of seeing your same ship over and over again.

Part of the appeal of No Man's Sky is going into the unknown and facing unforeseen threats. Unfortunately, the most visible of these threats are planetary biomes that threaten your suit's integrity, limiting each journey heavily and ensuring that you're always on the run for suit resources. This mod allows you to take this little bit of randomness out of the universe. No Man's Sky was sold to all of us on a promise of exploring worlds with larger than life creatures upon them. Unfortunately, the reality of the game is that you usually bump into small insects and medium mammals wherever you go. To heck with that. This mod makes dinosaurs and prehistoric creatures more common, making the universe a veritable safari of mammoth and daunting monsters, the way it ought to be.

No Man's Sky No Shadows [Performance Improvement]

This mod is set towards improving the overall performance of your game. It does this by removing the shadow effect entirely from No Man's Sky, which actually takes up quite a bit of the memory. Considering everything casts a shadow, even the clouds, the game spends a lot on keeping the integrity of all shadows on these vast planets intact. With shadows gone you'll see a pretty decent increase in the smoothness of the overall experience on whatever settings you're using.

No Man's Sky Fast Actions

No Man's Sky has a somewhat annoying way about confirming all options in the game. Rather than approach something and instantly interact with it, almost everything requires you to approach, wait for a prompt, and hold the button until the interaction occurs. This mod is set towards removing this general waste of time. All actions will now occur instantly upon a button press, rather than filling a wheel before occurring.

No Man's Sky Colorful Warp

A simple, yet beautiful addition the game. When you warp in No Man's Sky regularly, the warp tunnel is almost always a golden and somewhat ugly color. This mod reworks the warp visuals into a more rainbow-like effect. It's not so vibrant that it will strain your eyes, but it is a fantastic replacement for the game's regular feeling of warping through urine-colored cosmos.

This mod is simple, yet might be aesthetically pleasing to many players. It replaces the regular zooming binocular scanner with an actual binocular lens effect. In addition to this effect, there are a few options to play with the clarity of the binoculars when the player looks through them running from clean to dirty and gritty for that weathered and long traveled effect.

Play No Man's Sky for only a few hours and you'll know why this mod exists. The Exosuit's AI voice is like a coddling and overprotective mother. Don't stay out of the ship too long, your oxygen's at 90%, better get your radiation protection back up, you got 100 credits, etc. It's an endless array of warnings and notifications you can clearly see on the screen. Not anymore. This mod will allow you to toggle numerous notifications off. You can shut her off outright if you want. Space can be a much quieter and serene place.

For many of us, lens flare effects in games aren't much of a problem. In fact, you might even hardly notice it. It's used in a multitude of places in No Man's Sky, particular with flood lights and sun effects. If you're one of the types that absolutely hate this effect, we've got a solution for you. This mod reduces lens flare to practical non-existence in the game, ensuring that you won't be running into any blinding and impractical camera effects in your journey.

Playing No Man's Sky on a PlayStation gamepad? Then you've no doubt noticed that when you go into the controls menu, it only contains the mappings for Xbox controller buttons for whatever reason.
