Capcom has issued an update to fans on the upcoming film adaptations of the Onimusha and Clock Tower franchises.
2011 is the year for Onimusha according to their US blog now that everything is getting back on track and Clock Tower could be terrorising screens as early as next year.
The tragic death of star Heath Ledger led to delays of the Onimusha film production; though he wasn’t involved in the project it had a knock-on effect with numerous personnel. The franchise is a major player for Capcom and has tremendous roots on the PS2.
Silent Hill’s Cristophe Gans will be directing the piece with Happy Feet & Master and Commander’s John Collee to write all those big words.
Clock Tower is a long running survival-horror series from Capcom and the film will follow the third instalment. The Hills Have Eyes II director Martin Weisz is on board with Todd Farmer to write, he’s the guy behind Jason X.
