CEO Dr. Klemens Kundratitz stated, ”I’m very glad we acquired that brand. While it launched in a very dry space in the gaming calendar this year, it still got a lot of attention. Our ambition is to absolutely continue with that brand.”
Technically, Deep Silver can’t do another Metro title without getting the rights again from the books series’ author, Dmitry Glukhovsky, but Kundratitz noted, ”He (Glukhovsky) has been very positive contributing to the last game. I think he can play an active role for whatever comes in the future.”
Deep Silver’s parent company Koch Media paid $5.9M for the Metro license during THQ’s bankruptcy auction back in January 2013.
