Korean team Samsung White claimed the League of Legends World Championship 2014 title yesterday, heading home with $1 million in prize money.
They defeated Star Horn Royal Club 3-1 in a fairly one-sided final that you can read more about over on the League of Legends e-sport website.
That’s the second time in two years that Star Horn Royal Club have finished runners-up. They lost out to SK Telecom T1 last year. Don’t feel too sorry for the guys, though; they still managed to net a not inconsiderable $250,000.
Samsung White’s support expert Mata took home the 2014 World Championship MVP; ”He finished the tournament 18/27/253, with a 10.04 KDA, all the while serving as Samsung White’s strategic mastermind and shotcaller,” reads the official match report.
As for the final itself, you can check out the whole thing in the video above. Be warned - the full match lasts a backside-numbing seven hours. Nothing like the most thrilling e-sports encounter you’ll ever see, but a pro job from Samsung White.
