Robot Entertainment will release a new update for the Orcs Must Die! Unchained Beta today, which will add additional PVE content that will set player teams up against hordes of ”orcs, bears, ogres and other, newer creatures such as the dwarf grenadiers, forest giants and Cyclops mages.”
It’s basically like your regular Orcs Must Die!, but there’s a new mechanic to play with, the ‘Unchained’ meter. This is filled by combo-killing enemies. Once charged you and your co-op buddies do extra damage. They’ll also get more health and mana, and faster cooldowns for their skills.
“The difficulty rises in spite of all advantages however, rising from wave to wave and demanding the whole team’s attention during special boss waves. New bosses, such as Dread, a heavily armoured orc, or Sarge, a plate-armoured soldier, ensure that groups soon start to feel the heat,” explains Robot.
Other new features in the new update include a new game mechanic playable in custom matches, which allows players to capture neutral points and then use them to send powerful minions into battle, an increase in Hero battle levels, and more. Here’s a list of the key features:
