Larian Studios has released another patch for its excellent fantasy RPG Divinity: Original Sin, featuring the usual list of bug fixes and tweaks.
The game’s first update of 2015 also adds in Steam Cloud save functionality, as well as 3DSMax exporter so that modders can slot in their own models and animations.
Larian’s written a little FAQ for the new Steam save system over on the game’s community page. Only new saves will be cloud-capable, so if you have an old save, remember to go in and make a new copy. The cloud will also only store a certain amount of saves – older files will remain on your hard drive, but will be written over by newer files in the cloud.
There’s a tonne of balance changes to make certain boss fights and encounters harder or easier, as well as a rebalanaced monster stats model; “from Luculla to Dark Forest, overall, creatures go down faster but deal more damage,” explains Larian, which should make battles against orcs with seemingly infinite hitpoints a bit less of a chore.
Check out the full patch notes here. The patch should automatically download if you’ve got a copy of Original Sin in your library. It’s a fairly hefty one, taking about a gigabyte of space.
