Spanish ninja Vega has been confirmed for Street Fighter 5, and he’s sporting a bit of a new look. By which I mean he has a shirt this time.
In addition to the new threads, Vega’s move list has been expanded; he can now sheathe his trademark razor claws (which are cheating anyway, surely?) in order to switch over to a grappling stance.
“Knowing when to toggle between the two styles will be the key to success,” explains Capcom over on the PS Blog, “and it also allows for new combo possibilities. Conversely, Vega will no longer be able to pick up his claw once it’s knocked off, so knowing how to fight without the claw is a must! Players who enjoy tricky movement and the technical challenge of switching between claw/no-claw fighting styles will definitely find the beauty in Vega’s play style.”
Capcom recently revealed that all of Street Fighter 5’s DLC content will be purchasable for free using in-game credits. The game, which launches next year, is going to act as a “platform” – no more buying Ultra or Super Mega editions a few months down the line.
