Patch 6.1 for World of Warcraft will shortly be released into the wilds of the public test server, and leaks reveal a bucketload of new features, tweaks and fixes, including new anti-aliasing options, mounts, and even Twitter integration.
That means you can spend hours in one of the most time-consuming and addictive things of all time while also using one of the other most time-consuming and addictive things of all time. Never leave your computer chair again.
A new questline will be added in the Iron Docks region, continuing the overall storyline of expansion Warlords of Draenor. New mounts include (excellently) chauffeured version of the gnomish Mechano-Hog and Chopper, and Heirloom items can now be levelled up to level 100. Draenor’s Garrison feature has also seen a bunch of changes, with new missions, new followers and extra features.
In more technical news, Blizzard has added several forms of anti-aliasing for extra visual polish, trimmed and tweaked some of the UI, and even added a ‘death log’ that lets you know what killed you and how. Finally - and I admit this isn’t an exciting change, but it’s definitely a welcome one - you can cancel your booked fast travel flightplan at stops along the way. No more accidentally picking the wrong outposts and having to wait ten minutes for a griffon to ship you back and forth.
MMO Champion has gathered the relevant snippets of information on patch 6.1 up here. No news on when it will be deployed just yet, but it should hit the PTR in the next few weeks.
