Capcom has announced the next Resident Evil game, and it’s an online competitive shooter called Umbrella Corps. Just… what… everybody….wanted. Right?
”Utilize distinct weaponry and a precise, analog cover system to fight head-to-head with other players in fast, intense online matches,” says Capcom. A brand new trailer gives us some idea of how that plays out.
The game looks like a fairly predictable, standard third-person cover shooter, really. You’ve got zombies in there, of course, and in fairness there’s some nice moments where players use unfortunate rotting bystanders as undead shields, but the bulk of gameplay is running, gunning and hacking away with melee weapons. You can also apparently switch to first-person view while aiming.
Umbrella Corps is coming digitally to PC and PS4 in North America and Europe in early 2016, for $29.99/€29.99/£24.99.
