The fourth Mass Effect game, Andromeda, won’t have Commander Shepard, the iconic operative of the first three games, and BioWare’s development director Chris Wynn wants fans to give the game a chance.
Wynn tweeted on inquiries about the game:
@lordbyro I am well versed in the caparinhia, delicious. Be open minded to a Mass Effect with no Shepard, it can be good.

The director also fended off attempts to pin a release date beyond “Q4 2016”:
@gillsfan1973 not yet :)

Lead designer Ian S. Frazier added later on his own feed:
Let it be noted, @GambleMike will drag himself through broken glass if that's what it takes to get this game done and top quality.

Mass Effect: Andromeda was officially unveiled at Electronic Arts’ E3 press briefing back in June 2015.
