Remember the Titanfall 2 teaser that ended with a sword being driven into the ground? This titan is who that sword belonged to. The official Titanfall Twitter account has posted a video showing off Ronin, the sword-wielding titan. Click here to be directed to the post where you can watch the one-minute video.
Some of Ronin’s weapons and abilities include: a shotgun named Leadwall; an electric projectile emitting from the sword called Arc Wave; Phase Dash, a simple dash that builds up over time; and Sword Block, an ability that allows Ronin to use the sword to block incoming projectiles including rockets, bullets and lasers.
Titanfall fans seem to be slightly disappointed about the titans in this game. Unlike the original Titanfall, titans are no longer customisable, instead players must choose from pre-designed titans. In some ways, this might not be such a bad thing as it makes balancing the game significantly easier for the developers. Having to balance several weapons and abilities for each titan is difficult enough as it is, but when players have the opportunity to create game-breaking combinations for their titans, it’s easy to see why Respawn went down this route.
Titanfall 2 is scheduled to release on October 28th for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
