I’m going to on record here as saying there aren’t enough Groundhog Day scenarios in video games. Reliving the same day in different ways is so perfect a video game concept that it’s honestly shocking so few games have taken it up. Thankfully, a new adventure title called the Sexy Brutale is here to set things right.
The Sexy Brutale itself is an English mansion turned casino playing host to a masked ball. You, as an elderly priest named Lafcadio Boone, are there to prevent the horrible murder of the party’s guests at the hands of the mansion’s staff, and to do so you’ll have to hide, listen to conversations, and learn how things play out as you relive the day of the ball over and over again.

The game is a co-production of Tequila Works and Cavalier Game Studios. Cavalier’s design director, Charles Griffiths said “We worked really hard to turn the high concept for The Sexy Brutale into an exciting, accessible game that would speak for itself because we knew that – no matter how good – an idea is never enough on its own.”
We’ll see just how well that idea comes to life when the game launches in Q1 2017 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
