If you've played much Rocket League over the months, you've likely come to realise how difficult it can be to climb the ranks without a solid grasp of the game's short-burst flight mechanics. But following the example of user created training tools, Psyonix are looking to implement fan-made training regimes for players to share online.
The system will launch on PC with the game's next major update, but the company is already in talks with console partners to discuss the logistics of bringing the function to additional platforms in the future.
'Custom Training', as it's now being called will allow any and all users to arrange ball and vehicle placement how they see fit, with advanced controls like ball speed, direction and trajectory enabling players to organise and plan specific scenarios in which to test or teach others to combat.
Once a shot has been lined up, players can then attempt the scenario in real-time and quickly tweak and modify the training regime before taking another stab at it. Once pleased with the results, the shot can then be saved to a 'Shot List' and uploaded using tags like 'wall shot' or 'dribble' to help others find your helpful suggestions. Scenarios can be run across multiple maps and slotted into roles and difficulty categories to help catalog each upload.
There's no specific release date in mind just yet, but whenever you see Steam running an update, you'll know it's time to fly.
