We're classing The Crew 2 as a surprise announcement from Ubisoft's E3 presser this year. While the original had a decent fanfare about it at launch, it was another game from the French publisher that seemed to fall off the radar within the same week.
Offered up for free back in September last year, it was a deal that reminded people of its existance. The reminder of it originally releasing back in 2014 likely serving as more of a surprise than the sequel itself.
But exist it surely does. Essentially looking like the road-racing equivalent of another Ubisoft game that fell off the radar - Steep - it's one that offers anything from your traditional drag-race to rally and boating races, too.

And the folks over at PlayStation Access obviously took a liking to the idea. Loading up their finest B-roll, the team published their thoughts on the sequel's major changes. Playable on the E3 showfloor, there's no shortage of like-minding individuals in the comments section who managed to survive the queues of the first public E3 event to share their thoughts, touching on how it already seems like The Crew 2 features far more content than the original game.
There's no solid release date in mind for this one, yet, but we can imagine it's a Holiday 2017 title. With the last releasing just shy of Christmas in December 2014, we're going to assume a similar date for this sequel. If you're up for racing around in the beta, sign-ups are already open here.
