To celebrate Halloween and the launch of the Blood Moon update to MMO Champions Online, developer Cryptic are holding a free-to-play weekend to entice newcomers.
From this Friday till Monday, Oct. 30th to Nov. 2nd, users can sign up and not pay a penny. Blood Moon’s new content is available from tomorrow for subscribers, like werewolf attacks!
”It’s late October and the moon has taken on a sinister aspect, staining the sky a bloody red. The superhero Witchcraft, of the Champions, warns that this is a dire portent of an approaching mystical threat. There have been sightings of strange creatures emerging across the world, those of savage werewolves and flesh-craving zombies,” reads the site.
The update includes the new Celestial power set, a support and healing based set for players. A new boss Takofanes also arrives and for those who manage to defeat 13 fallen heroes, they can unlock the new power set weeks before it’s available.
You also get to join in on the werewolf hunt, but falling to one’s bite will turn your hero into one of the supernatural creatures. A whole new PvP event is being staged also, the Zombie Apocalypse, where if you’re defeated you arise as the enemy instead.
Loads more on the Blood Moon event is spilled by Cryptic Studios over on the website. Why not checkout this new superhero MMO, it’ll be free over Halloween after all?
