LucasArts talks Star Wars development, creator George sees it all

How does one go about making a Star Wars game? That’s what several LucasArts were grilled over, revealing a fierce loyalty to the license.

Each game is born through deep collaboration says Develop’s Will Freeman, and that creator George Lucas himself oversees projects.

Not directly of course, that wouldn’t be mysterious or Force-like enough. ”I’m constantly tasked by my masters to create that Star Wars magic. It is a very big challenge,” Dave Filoni tells Develop, he’s the creative director for The Clone Wars TV series.

“We constantly have to ask ourselves ‘what makes something Star Wars?’” he adds. “How do you get that feeling in the acting and the action? My mentor is George Lucas, and there couldn’t be a better person to teach me.”

”I’ve always felt good knowing George is on board and backing everything we’re going to do. That means we can achieve that almost impossible task of capturing that something about Star Wars that makes it so special.”
