Harmonix: Rock Band 3 supports track exports, "all three consoles"

Team Harmonix confirms you’ll be able to export tracks from Rock Band 2 for use in Rock Band 3 on all the console versions; Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii.

Some songs won’t because they ”get complicated” with licensing but the studio is trying their best for all of them. DLC pricing expected to match.

Buying new track and album packs will stay around the same price range with Rock Band 3, except for those put together for the new Pro Mode as they’ll be more expensive as it takes longer to get them working.

”We’re doing it for all three consoles,” said Harmonix’s John Drake about track exports. ”We always have this issue where we have to re-licence every song from the disc, and we always have a couple of songs that get complicated. But we’re doing our best to get every single song.” Rock Band 3 releases on Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii October 29th.
