UK pre-orders for new Xbox 360

Retailers in the British Isles have begun their pre-order service for the new Xbox 360 model that Microsoft unveiled during this week’s E3.

So far they look to be selling as standalone for GBP 199.99. The new hardware has built-in 802.11n Wi-Fi and a detachable 250Gb HDD, but…

…it doesn’t come with any HDMI leads, only the composite A/V cable. Frankly that’s a bit of a stinker given that everyone more or less has a HD TV in some shape or form with a HDMI port these days, thanks to really low prices.

Both retailer GAME and Play.com have their pre-orders on full alert for when Europe can expect their shipment of new Xbox 360s to arrive - which is July 16th. The new box also comes with a ”custom Kinect port” so it doesn’t need external power.
