That beat Sony’s PS3 Slim launch as it managed only 68.2 percent over the quarter period it hit the shops. Xbox 360 is still top sales dog in the US.
Between June and August 2010 the new Xbox 360 has bumped sales of the platform up 90 percent, giving Microsoft 3 consecutive months of unrivalled sales in the US. This beats Sony’s PS3 Slim launch for the period of August to October 2009.
Last month saw 356,700 units of Xbox 360 sell in the US, with only 244,300 Nintendo Wiis and 226,000 PS3 consoles getting moved. In terms of year-to-date sales though the Nintendo Wii still reigns King with 2,983,000 units to Xbox 360’s 2,695,900.
The new Xbox 360 - which ditches core, premium and elite labels - was unveiled at Microsoft’s E3 2010 press event and ranges from 4GB to 250GB HDD capacity.
