Kickstarter scam uncovered by users

It seems users have called out a scam on Kickstarter, as donators have called out developer Little Monster Productions, which claims to be run by former Activision and Blizzard employees. The project, Mythic: The Story of Gods and Men, had raised $5000 of a possible $80,000 before it was pulled and the Facebook page shut down.

The game promised ”the gameplay of World of Warcraft and the graphics of Skyrim,” but the first real evidence of shady doings was that the page featured art and assets from other Kickstarter projects.

The project was shut down right after, but the developer insisted that the game was not a scam.

According to the team’s Kickstarter page, ”A few members of our team worked at Burton Design Group last year before others found out the owner was being shady with funds. They left and joined our team shortly after.”

“As for the concept art, it seems we have been subjected to false claims of ownership right to our concepts. The game itself is well in progress and is NOT a scam of any kind. Thank you for understanding. If you have any further questions please feel free to ask.”

Fortunately, the project did not reach its goal, so the $5000 in donations were never charged to the contributors.
