Back in November, it was reported that Electronic Arts was prepping the closure of its Guildford, UK-based studio Bright Light. That preparation has apparently concluded, as EA has confirmed that the developer is officially shuttered.
While EA hasn’t released details of the closer, it is believed that some of the Guildford staff had been reassigned to other EA-owned development studios such as Criterion and Playfish, while other released employees found work with studios like Jagex and Supermassive Games.
Bright Light, formerly EA UK, reportedly employed over 100 staff at its height in 2007. The developer is best known for working on Harry Potter-licensed games as well as the software toy Create.
Bright Light had previously escaped the EA purge of studios in 2009.
