Red Dead Redemption Will Be Playable On PC Next Week -

Rockstar have a spotty track record when it comes to support the PC platform in recent years. With earlier titles nearly always landing on Windows in some form, only the Grand Theft Auto series has kept at it - and even then it's been far slower than consoles. So when it comes to Red Dead Redemption, there will soon be a way 6 years after its original release. Thanks to Sony's PlayStation Now service, we'll be able to play Rockstar's Western classic on PCs in just a few days time. The original never made it across, even when both Grand Theft Auto IV and V took a year or two to make the jump. So if you have a worthwhile connection speed, you'll be able to pump it through the internet pipes in due course.

It isn't the best-case scenario, but it's better than nothing at this point. Access the PlayStation Now service is locked at a fee, but it does allow you to stream well over 400 PS3 titles to any compatible device. Heck, with the right controller, you can even play them on a tablet or, god forbid, a tiny mobile phone screen.

But if you're streaming to a machine with a decent screen size and a somewhat reliable internet connection, you'll be able to stroll around the red deserts with, hopefully, minimal lag. Again, it isn't the best solution, but maybe it'll do something to convince Rockstar we're still holding out hope of a Red Dead Redemption 2 port further down the line. December 6 is the day you'll finally be able to play one of the last generation's highest rated games without ever owning one of the consoles. A unfortunate situation, but it's best to work with that you're given.
