There's a 'Classic JRPG For Modern Times' coming this year, but it likely isn't what you're expecting. Guardians of Arcadia has a new trailer. Presumably taking notes from the Nintendo DS remakes of Final Fantasy III and IV alongside games like Bravely Default and I Am Setsuna, indie group Fabula Epica is looking to release Guardians of Arcadia sometime this year.
Enjoying Paragon? You'll get to enjoy it with a new character tomorrow. Serath is coming!
Aiming to provide a nostalgia trip through mixing elements of both new and older JRPGs, Guardians of Arcadia brings higher-resolution assets to a game with a somewhat aged - but still adored - turn-based battle system. Pepper a wolf with arrows, traverse a vast overworld and question the pavement layout of a nearby town in the forest before the year ends. Guardians of Arcadia already has a Steam page to check out, and we'll likely hear more of the game before it finally goes up for purchase.
