When you realize that there's basically always someone willing to do the work needed to splice a character into a game or even recreate one game within another, you have to sit down and both appreciate their work and question how there's always someone willing to do it. The latest to fall into the category is Sega's 1992 classic - Streets of Rage 2. Although technically releasing after the coming of Sega's beat em' up sequel, Bubsy was apparently a critter someone wanted to have vent his annoying voice at an endless stream of pixelated hooligans.
At One Point, It Seemed A Streets Of Rage 2 Remake Was In The Works
Managing only three releases before his fourth ended his average rodent lifespan just 3 years later. Once Atari auctioned off the series rights in 2014, owner Tommo Inc. announced a pseudo-revival with Bubsy Two-Fur - a re-release of the original title on modern platforms with more to follow. Somewhat unsurprisingly, however, the second never came. So for those who genuinely want to see Bubsy in a new light, having the loud-mouthed animal punch up some bad guys might be the only way for quite some time.
