Deus Ex: Mankind Divided Is Free To Play Until October

Steam's library grows bigger by the hour, and with that comes more potential free games, free weekends and lavish savings. The latest to get the free time period is Square Enix's AAA Blade Runner blockbuster sequel Deus Ex: Mankind Divided. Of course, it isn't a real sequel to anything Blade Runner related, but there's every reason to believe the Deus Ex franchise was inspired by Philip K. Dick's 80's narrative. Augmentations, a dystopian future and regular people not trusting modern technology are all key elements. But we're getting off topic.

Dues Ex: Mankind Divided was last year's sequel to the very impressive Deus Ex: Human Revolution, which was, in turn, a prequel to the two games that arrived in the early 2000s - namely Dues Ex and Deus Ex: Invisible War. Mankind Divided continues the lead-up to the start of the franchise, so it isn't a great starting point for newer players, but a great opportunity for those who played the 2013 game to pick up its sequel.

The free trial period lasts until sometime on October 27. At that point, you'll need to buy the game to continue playing. But at £9.99, it's a steal for a big-budget shooter/RPG with dozens of hours of content. If you're yet to step into the world of Deus Ex, however, it might be wise to use this opportunity to try out the series' mechanics and use that experience as a basis to pick up Human Revolution at a mere £2.60. But if you've played the last game, you have around 35 hours to marathon Mankind Divided without dropping a penny. Think you can hack it?
