**Ardem **is an upcoming open world zombie survival title from Techtive Games, a studio featuring former DayZ and The Elder Scrolls modders. Everything takes place in Minnowa, a 25 square mile slice of the American Midwest, which has been decimated by the titular Ardem. This is short for “Artificial Demography”, a secret bioweapon project that was supposed to help solve overpopulation. Instead, it created the RHAB-14 virus pandemic and killed off most of humanity and mutated others into zombies (referred to in-game as “the restless”).
Minnowa, as with every other location, is handcrafted in Unreal Engine 5. From abandoned mines to military bases reclaimed by nature, they all tell a story that can also be pieced together through lore found via in-game notes and journals. Ardem will include a bunch of vehicles to drive and maintain, plus the ability to track and hunt wildlife. Alongside survival, there’s an emphasis on base building and crafting; Techtive promises an immersive experience that’s reactive to your actions.
You’lll get to explore and scavenge across multiple game modes (solo, co-op, PvE and PvP with up to 64 other players) once the game enters early access towards the end of 2026. A public playtest will be available on October 15. The full version of the game will launch with mod support.
