It's been a while since we last heard of Frederick Raynal. Hailed as the creator of Alone in the Dark and - arguably - the birth of the survival-horror genre, he's back to where it all begin. Almost.
Gloomywood founder Frederick Raynal, best known for his work on Alone in the Dark, has released a new trailer for his survival horror/exploration game 2Dark. He also announced that the game would be getting a release sometime in the first half of 2016.
2Dark is a charming, retro game about... stopping children being butchered by serial killers. Oh. It's being developed by French team Gloomywood, who have released a new talking us through the concept.
It's presented by programmers Frederick Raynal and Thierry Platon, who have some history in this genre; they were part of the team behind 1992 classic Alone in the Dark, the game which kick-started the survival horror craze of the late 90s.
