APB: Reloaded Summary
APB: Reloaded gets new Christmas update, banned players can return if they perform some community service
APB: Reloaded, the free-to-play reincarnation of Realtime Worlds', is getting a new Christmas update, adding various new events and goodies to earn. The game's current developer Reloaded Productions is also adding in a rehab programme that will ease previously banned players back into the game – with one catch...
Free-to-play games aren't some fad, they're getting bigger and now starting to nip at the heels. Xfire has stated, in a recent report, that F2P with micro-transactions are becoming mainstream among gamers. Xfire runs a free chat and server browser client and has seen their World of Warcraft numbers tumble, while League of Legends rockets upward. The "rapid ascension" of F2P took them by surprise.
Reloaded Productions has brought All Points Bulletin (APB): Vendetta onto Kickstarter as they seek gamers to vote with their wallets; yay or nay. They'd like $300k with 34 days before the deadline. To summarise the project quickly it's a "character-driven extreme mobility competitive shooter", which I'm sure just answered all possible questions. Someone has already pledged $2,500.
A blog post has gone into detail over the planned release of the Paramilitary Pack and "revamped re-release" of the Thanksgiving Weekend-only Tactical Gear Pack for MMO APB Reloaded. This time around there'll be no time limit on the 'Tac Pack', although some "unique Bonus Gifts" will be time sensitive. They bring new gear, vehicles and new unique weapons.
GamersFirst has announced that the reborn APB Reloaded has hit 3 million user registrations, passing the mark shortly after the game debuted on Steam. The game is now the second most popular free-to-play title on Valve's digital distribution service. The timing for this announcement coincides with the imminent release of the game on retail shelves as a $30 game in Wal-Mart, Target, Best Buy and GameStop stores across the US. The retail game will feature $50 worth of content.
