Disney discontinue their Infinity series, subsequently shuts down Avalanche Software

Disney have decided to discontinue their Infinity series of games, ending not only the Infinity games but also Avalanche Software, the studio that created those games. Jimmy Pitaro, Disney’s chairmen of consumer products, announced in a statement that Disney have changed their approach to console gaming. Instead of self-publishing, Disney will now focus on licencing brands out to developers (as it has done with DICE with Star Wars Battlefront). "This was a difficult decision that we did not take lightly given the quality of Disney Infinity and its many passionate fans." Pitaro said.
