Longtime developer Cliff Harris released his spaceship battle indie sequel Gratuitous Space Battles 2 on Steam back in April 2015. The game received middling reviews from critics and fans, and admitted that he has stopped supporting the game to anyone who has asked about it.

Positech Games founder Cliff Harris has just released the sequel Gratuitous Space Battles 2 on PC, Mac and Linux for those whose love of starship beams and explosions borders on the obscene and pornographic. Ban this sick filth! The follow-up supports 'pimping your fleet' to look however we want, Steam Workshop for mods, multi-screen support for more X-rated battles, and a wide variety of languages.
