Transformers: War For Cyberton 2 Summary
Publishing behemoth Activision will be putting out "fewer games" based on licensed properties this year, read a company statement. This revelation comes as 30 global job positions are made redundant.
As they are releasing less this year, they're "realigning" internal structures to "better reflect the market opportunities" and their upcoming slate. In other words; they're trimming the fat.
During the PAX East event in Boston over the weekend a number of internal Activision studio heads defended the giant publishing 'ogre'.
Vicarious Visions, High Moon and Raven all stood waving the Acti banner. They talk about less pressure, and support of the "independent studio model".
High Moon Studios is developing Activision's Transformers: Dark of the Moon tie-in to the upcoming third Transformers film from director Michael Bay.
It intorduces "Stealth Force gameplay" which gives us a "third form beyond robot and vehicle" modes. We fight "epic battles on Earth" that lead to the film.
Hasbro has revealed at a recent investors day that it's working on a sequel to Transformers: War For Cyberton that is planned for a release in 2012.
Activision should release this sequel on multiple platforms, and High Moon Studios are back as the developers.
