Hell Let Loose: Vietnam Gameplay
Gameplay-wise, Hell Let Loose: Vietnam follows in the footsteps of its World War II predecessor, focusing on 50vs50 battles infused with a serious dose of realism.
Bullets are lethal, and teamwork is necessary to push the enemy back and secure victory.
A new conflict means two new factions to play as – the North Vietnamese Armies and the US Armed Forces –, alongside a suite of new ways to wage war, which include building tunnels, flying helicopters, and driving patrol boats.
Hell Let Loose: Vietnam launches with six sprawling maps “that authentically recreate real-world locations and dramatic terrain.” Its 17 specialised roles tap into different playstyles, each having its part to play in the war effort.
They include “infantry, recon, armour, mortar squads and helicopter units,” marking the first time controllable aerial units are available in the series.
While they are only available to the US forces, the NVA can build “extensive tunnel networks to gain the upper hand with surprise attacks,” signalling some level of asymmetrical gameplay is involved.
With 50v50 combat, you might be wondering if there’s crossplay in Hell Let Loose Vietnam, and we have the answers in our guide to Hell Let Loose Vietnam crossplay.
