Hello Games’ latest ambitious epic is in the works. GameWatcher looks into the Light No Fire release date, platforms, pre-orders, trailers, and more.
Having spent a decade shaping No Man’s Sky into a ridiculously good sci-fi survival experience, Hello Games is scaling things down from entire galaxies to just a single planet, but Light No Fire is no less ambitious than its spacefaring stablemate.
In Light No Fire, players will be able to live in a planet-sized environment infused with the spirit of classic fantasy RPGs. There are no boundaries. Every mountain is scalable, every ocean is explorable, and you can build a life anywhere, on your own or with others, and make a permanent mark on the world.
We’ve gathered all the relevant information on this sprawling RPG to give you a better idea of what to expect.
Light No Fire Release Date
Light No Fire was originally revealed in 2023 at The Game Awards, but things have been fairly quiet since then, with no sign of a release date.
To be fair, the relatively small team at Hello Games has been continuing to update No Man’s Sky whilst developing Light No Fire, even experimenting with features planned for the latter in the former.
It does feel like we’re due some kind of announcement this year, but the rather ominous GTA-shaped shadow looming over the 2026 release window will likely shape Hello Games’ plans.
So, with a lack of information this far into 2026, it’s increasingly likely we won’t see Light No Fire released before 2027
Light No Fire Gameplay
Light No Fire is a game about adventure, building, survival, and exploration together. Set on a fantasy planet the size of Earth, it brings the depth of a role-playing game to the freedom of a survival sandbox.
Meet players from across the globe, build a life, explore, and survive together. Construct persistent buildings and communities, or strike out alone to discover the world for others.
Light No Fire Story
Set on a Fantasy version of Earth, Light No Fire promises a planet full of lore, mystery, and ancient secrets. While exploration and survival are key, there is a story being told, just one we don’t know a lot about just yet.
Light No Fire Price, Platforms, and Pre-orders
There’s no set price for Light No Fire just yet, and while you can’t pre-order the game just yet, you can at least wishlist it on Steam.
As for platforms, well, obviously, PC is one of them, but for consoles, it seems likely the usual suspects will be involved. PS5 and Xbox Series X/S releases make sense, and you can’t rule out a Switch 2 launch either.
Depending on when the game actually releases, we could even see Light No Fire on Xbox’s Project Helix or the PS6.
