This crossover event announcement came as Phasmophobia reached a new major milestone: surpassing 5 million copies sold on consoles and 28 million copies sold overall.
The Alan Wake collaboration event marks Kinetic Games’ first-ever crossover with another IP for Phasmophobia, so, even if future plans haven’t been fully unveiled yet, we could theorise more crossovers might happen in the future.

“This crossover introduces a new presence that bleeds into familiar locations, shifts in the shadows, and twists investigations in ways ghost hunters have never encountered before,” the press release states. Will ghost hunters have to deal with the Dark Presence as seen in the Alan Wake games?
Sam Lake, Creative Director at Remedy Entertainment, also added: “It was a joy to write this. Our two twisted worlds amplify each other perfectly.” It appears Remedy has been actively involved in the creative vision for this event, and it’s just a matter of figuring whether Alan Wake’s world is bleeding into Phasmophobia’s or the other way around.
