What would you do if the entire world was collapsing and a mysterious dark hand was relentlessly chasing you? With Lostbound, developer Tenkarider aims to explore that intriguing pitch through a retro-inspired roguelite action RPG.
“Blending retro-inspired exploration with high-stakes roguelite progression, Lostbound challenges players to find the lost artefacts while being relentlessly pursued by a mysterious force known only as The Hand. Every decision matters as the world crumbles behind you, paths disappear, and survival becomes a race against time.”
As part of the current Steam Next Fest, a demo is available via the game’s page. It includes the opening region of Lostbound, where players can recover artifacts, experiment with different weapon types, and begin to test builds through the Adventure and Campaign modes.
Of course, The Hand, “an ever-present threat that constantly reshapes the adventure”, is present and destroying entire locations only after you’ve visited them. According to the developer, each new run is different in traditional roguelite fashion, but the permanent menace of world-engulfing darkness pushes Lostbound in a wildly different direction.
“With procedurally generated dungeons, dynamic artefact combinations, multiple weapons, and ever-changing challenges, no two runs unfold the same way. Success depends on careful planning, smart resource management, and learning how to stay one step ahead of the force determined to claim you.”
Lostbound hasn’t locked a release date yet, but we know it’s coming to PC via Steam later this year. You can wishlist the game now and stay tuned for updates in the coming months.
