Blizzard's upcoming expansion to World of Warcraft apparently has done away with, or at least masks, the average "kill-30-of-this number" quests.
During their live blogging at the Blizzard Worldwide Invitational they say the new tasks players will come into contact with won't be so bland and generic.
They explore some of the early quests available that players will find themselves undertaking when they finally get to enter Vengeance Landing in the Howling Fjord.
More specialised missions like bombing-runs, which were already feature in The Burning Crusades, and other less than orthodox actions will be encountered.
"The available quest was a little different to your average kill-30-of-this number," wrote PC Zone.
"I was required to hack up as many Vrykul as possible until three of their heroes spawned, who I needed to not only kill, but actively desecrate in their bloody deaths with a Forsaken flag."
Still the grind but with better sugar coating? Are such 'generic' quests really avoidable with something the scale of World of Warcraft?
