Phil Spencer, head honcho at Microsoft Game Studios has revealed to Edge that they’ve scored a ”group of industry heavy hitters”. Ex-Kojima Ryan Payton nabbed.
Also it was mentioned that team Bungie will be making a ‘major announcement’ in regards to the recently released Halo teaser trailer. The show begins on the 9th.
Payton was the assistant producer on Metal Gear Solid’s latest iteration, Guns of the Patriots. He left Kojima Productions for family reasons and moved back to Washington State.
It’s believed Payton is now working on a new Halo project for Microsoft, though a rep would only say: ”The team is working on upcoming and existing Halo games.”
Microsoft Game Studios have also landed Gearbox Software’s Corrine Yu, id Software’s Kenneth Scott, former Pseudo Interactive’s David Wu and ex-Bungie Frank O’Connor in their new Halo team net.
”Microsoft Game Studios is thrilled to have such talented people working to develop new and exciting projects within the Halo universe and supporting existing projects from studios like Bungie and Ensemble,” said Spencer.
The Tokyo Game Show runs October 9th to the 12th; Halo fans be sure to mark your calendars.
