At an invite only affair in Japan, Square Enix has revealed that the next full title instalment in the Final Fantasy franchise will be arriving next year - no word on Europe though.
While they have announced an Xbox360 version work has not started on it yet and won’t until the PS3 version is complete.
”We’re making the PS3 version first, and then porting to the 360 later,” director Motomu Toriyama stated, according to GameSpot. ”I’m telling them to not think about the Xbox 360 right now…We can think about it after the development kits arrive.”
Toriyama also allayed fears for PS3 gamers that graphics would suffer with the port to Xbox360 saying they ”aren’t going to change any specifications because of the multi-platform announcement.”
This is not Square Enix’s only Xbox360 project in the pipeline with The Last Remnant, Infinite Undiscovery and Star Ocean: The Last Hope all at varying stages of completion.
